this is just a simple article i came across with some tips to stay motivated. a lot of the tips are no brainers, but sometimes it’s nice to juts be reminded of little things we can do to help ourselves.
i’ve been really good about avoiding soda. it’s an awesome feeling when i decide to drink water when i’m craving a soft drink. it immediately motivates me to continue to make healthier choices. and graphics like this help too. we want to have children in a couple of years and i need to learn to be the perfect role model. if i don’t eat well i can never expect my child to. i’m not obsessed with weight loss, i’m focused on wanting to know how my body works and giving it what it needs to be as healthy as possible.
i came across this on pinterest, like always, and thought it was really interesting. especially the part about chewing gum, i think i can attest to that being true.
i’m not sure why this struck me so hard, but i came across this on pinterest and immediately logged off. i wanted to share it here before i go on a spontaneous bike ride. for some reason i’ve never looked at life this way. i know this is so random and seems so simple, but how inspiring is it to think of each day like this?
this is just one of the many reasons we do not keep soda in the house. it’s one of my favorite drinks of choice, but with all of the warnings about it’s effect on the body it just doesn’t seem worth it…
i found this on pinterest, it was linked to SKINNY MS. i couldn’t find the exact page, but give SKINNY MS. a look. it’s a great site i’m going to be looking through and i’m sure posting about in the near future!
i was literally drinking red wine and eating raw almonds when i came across an article that contained this statement: “Some nuts contain rhizveritrol, the anti-inflammatory agent found in red wines and thought to be responsible for the “French paradox”. Many scientists have pointed to the French consumption of red wine as one factor in the lower rate of heart disease despite their diets rich in cream sauces and buttery pastries. The fat in nuts is unsaturated, or the “good” fat and there is no cholesterol in these fats.”
i’m sure there is a ton of debate about both of these claims, but as far as i’m concerned these choices are much better than the soda and chips that had recently been a staple in my diet…
if you want to keep a ridiculously healthy and very filling snack in your cupboards/desk/office/lunch then maybe think about almonds? it’s something i’m definitely adding to my diet, and luckily i love red wine (i hate white wine) i never have more than 1.5 glasses, and i’ve found almonds and my grape juice are the perfect way to wind down each evening. love, love it.
i ran track and cross country in high school and one thing my coaches stressed was the importance of proper form. i haven’t ran since high school, but i’m starting to consider it. i figured jogging, walking and biking can all be activities i pattern through out my weekly mornings and evenings. anyway, i thought this was the perfect visual for any beginner runners to look at. click through the photo for more information in the article this came from.
there’s a lot of debate on certain aspects of proper running, so make sure to do what’s comfortable for you and do your own research.
this ab workout from crunch seems intense, but it also looks like it might be effective. i finally got my bike fixed so i think i’m going to go for an early morning bike ride tomorrow and then maybe give this a try after. i’ll let you know how it goes. let me know how it works out for you if you give it a try too!
*no idea what the stuff at the bottom of the illustration is about, so i’m going to go ahead and ignore it because it seems a little creepy…
check out this article, it’s really well written and really inspirational. i’m stubborn and this has definitely helped me really focus on what’s essential to a healthier life style. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/womans_lean_sexy_bible.htm
i refuse to lift weights because i know how quickly i build muscle and i’m the first to refuse to look like i’m on steroids, but i realized now that i’m being really ignorant if i think for a second i can get the lean body i want doing everything but some type of lifting. i’m still convinced i build muscle at a freakish rate, and my high school track coach will be the first to tell you that, but after reading this article i think i can find a fair balance.
i really, really like this article because is stresses some really important facts and emphasis health over appearance. i feel like there are so many people in society that will go to unhealthy extremes to get thin, and create long term problems that are worse than being overweight. i wish people would just eat healthy, clean and move. do it the healthy way, everything will fall into place. i’m slowly but surely learning this for myself!
